The Cill Rialaig Project Residency

This work is from my time at an artist residency in Cill Rialaig, Ireland. The whole area is stunning and filled with raw, organic nature everywhere. I felt inspired every morning seeing the view of the Atlantic Ocean, and the changing colors of the sky and ocean when I stepped outside my cottage. I took long walks up the hillside listening to the sheep, birds, the wind, and the sounds of the waves. Although it rained on and off (mostly on) for the first several days, the sun finally came out towards the end of my time there and I was able to paint outside for a bit. I explored many things driving the magnificent Ring of Kerry, and the spectacular cliffs and summits, going to Portmagee, Valentia, St. Finian’s Bay, Cahersiveen, and castles, ruins, and stone circles during my time there. Ireland is truly a magical, spiritual place that seems to seep into your bones, heart, and spirit.
