MTA - Music Under New York

The Musician series of drawings are drawn from the MTA Music Under New York Auditions; each lasted for no longer than 5 minutes (with some extra time of drawing from memory afterwards). It’s an exciting, raw, adrenaline filled 6 hours of drawing from a range of amazing solo, duos and groups of musicians, one after the other. I tried to capture the essence, body language and personality of at least one of the performers for each 5 minute time period. I used dip pens, brush pens, watercolor washes and acrylic paint markers.
